If you are not familiar with Boxes and Walls; it is an interactive diversity experience that was created for our students and the entire UW-W community. The name of the program fits the purpose of the experience, which is to think outside of the box by throwing away stereotypes and tearing down walls of oppression.
This year, we will be showcasing Black, LGBTQA+, Mental Health, physical disability and LatinX experiences. Each experience will be designed to allow participants to feel and/or sense what life is like from these various diverse perspectives. The power of this program is realized when the participants understand what their fellow students who hold these identities have experienced, based on their identities.
If you have any questions about the program, please email Terry Tumbarello at tumbaret@watchnb.com.
